Our Hearts and Minds
I've been away from the office for a few days and wanted everyone reading to know that our hearts are with the families of the victims from Virginia Tech this week.
I have found that the United Way in Atlanta is helping the families of the victims (not to mention the generous donation by Michael Vick, $10,000 to help with expenses) and you can donate to the United in Caring Fund for Victims of the VA Tech Tragedy by calling United Way 211 by dialing 2-1-1 (I assume that's only for Atlantans) or calling (404) 614-1000, or visiting unitedwayatlanta.org.
If you stumble across any other organizations providing help, or if you happen to know first hand how to most effectively help them, please let me know by emailing me at acorbelli@gmail.com.
Until then, let's follow the requests of the families. Try and get the video of the killer, and talk about the killer, out of the spotlight as much. The families mostly wish to just remember their loved ones and the lives they lived. I'm holding a moment of silence and prayer to respect the victims today here at the store, and I hope others can find the time to do similarly in their own lives.
Virginia Tech families: you're in our prayers...
-Anthony
